Ballston Spa High School has a vacancy for a School Records Management Clerk.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is a clerical position involving responsibility for assisting in the implementation of a Records Management Program in a large school district. Duties require the reviewing, recording and indexing a variety of records and documents. Work is performed under the general supervision of a higher ranking administrator or designated staff member, in accordance with established school policy and procedure. Performs related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: (*Illustrative Only)
Prepares a complete survey of all records generated by the school district; Prepares a variety of timely and complex statistical and retention reports; Oversees contracts with local BOCES or other subcontractors to have designated records microfilmed and verified; May provide training to other staff on updated procedures necessary to maintain the Records Management Program; May work with IT staff to develop specific software to assist in maintaining the Records Management Program;
Operates a variety of office machinery such as, but not limited to, computer, microfiche and other typical office equipment;

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHRACTERISTICS: Thorough knowledge of modern records keeping methods; good knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment including computers; good knowledge of usual records generated by school districts; good organizational skills; ability to understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written directions; ability to establish and maintain harmonious relations with superiors and staff; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
